Fitting Audi 3.2 Quattro Brakes on my TFSI VRS

Featured Replies

Hi

I just got a very good deal on used Audi A3 3.2 Quattro Breaks, 345mm Front 310mm Rear.

Apart from the break lines which I need to replace I noticed that the 3.2 rear Splash shield does not fit correctly and needs to be adjusted (By sawing it a little) and making new holes for the screws.

I wish to avoid this and buy a Splash shield that fits perfectly, can anyone help with this? Part number or would be great but car make and model would be more than fine.

Thanks

In case you are wondering what a splash shield it’s the part marked 10 in the picture.

I didn't bother even fitting the splash shield when I installed my Golf R32 brakes.

Thanks for your reply

I'm worried about the ABS sensors getting dirty/damaged and malfunctioning.

How long have you had your R32 brakes for?

And another thing, did you use the R32 brake lines or somthing else?

I believe the rear R32/S3 splash guards do not fit anyway, what the guys on the GTI forum have done is to use the std 288mm splash guards and bend them back

Thanks!

How about hoses, which ones do you recommend using?

I wanted to use the 3.2 Quattro hoses but they were damaged, which ones would you recommend?

go for some braided HEL ones mate. if your doing the brakes you may as well replace the next weak link

Thanks!

I don't have the part numbers to hand, but I got mine from a Skoda dealer.

The Mk2 Superb's have these brakes fitted as standard, so you can find the correct hoses from there

Thanks a lot guys

I was thinking of getting some braided lines rather than standard but they are very hard to come by in Israel, any chance someone has part numbers or can help with locating the parts needed?

Harry, thanks a lot for the tip on superb lines, that would be a great alternative and I can do it a the dealers and get good warranty, our local skoda dealer is very Pro-Tuning so as funny as it may sound doing the job there is actually a good choice.

Cheers!

I've R32 ones on my rears. The shield fits at 2 of the 3 fixing points, with a minor adjustment to widen the third one if you need it to fit. The S3 & R32 rear splash shields are different! Several guys on the US MKV forum have done this. I think I might have some photos too, but will have to go digging on my old system to find them!

I'll look into it, Thanks.

Just orderd the HEL Braided lines and will be picking them up later this week when I'll be visiting the UK for GTI International, they are almots a third of the price of original audi ones at the stealers so it was the onlt real choise.

Will be cool if I could fit the 3.2Q Splash shields with some mod's, I'd rather not adjust the original ones as I want to sell them with the old brakes.

Thanks Again!
