locking wheel nut key

Featured Replies

i just checked to see if i had locking wheel nuts on the new car and discovered i have but have not got a locking wheel nut key. If i go to the dealer will they just sell me one, do they have them in stock as a general rule or am i likely to have to wait for one to be ordered.

You may also need to quote the number from your original key

Good question

Check with the dealer to see if they can track it down through the chassis number ?

thanks for everyones help that replied on this subject last night.

You can get them from a vw dealer and theyre just over 15 quid for the key i needed anyway.

job done

Glad you're sorted.

Might be worth mentioning a web site - Zakparts. Worth looking at, they keep a lot of VAG stuff including things like locking wheel nuts if I remember. I used them a while back when I had a Fabia Vrs and got some spare wheel nut covers. A lot cheaper than the dealer.

cool ill check them out too

May sound like a daft question, but are you sure you don't have one!?

Could it have been hidden or misplaced in or around the spare wheel well?

Mine was pushed into a small hole in the foam tool holder thing in the middle of the spare wheel. I was just about to phone the dealer and order one as well!

Hope this helps.

Tom

You shouldn't have paid for it, dealer should have sorted it

i literally checked everywhere, took the wheel out and everything and it wasnt there. Its one of them things where the effort of getting it sorted was preferable to mincing about trying to get the place i bought the car from to sort it as they were a vauxhall dealer and would take forever to get it
