Does anyone know if I can replace my turbo with any designed for a 2.0 140 Tdi

Featured Replies

The turbo number is 03g253010j made by Garrett, does it have to be the same OEM part number or does it just need to be able to fit a GT1749V model. No one seems to know.

What are you trying to do ?? Is it more power you are looking for or are you not happy with the "fragile" Garrett ??

The BKD/BMM derv engine is fitted in the whole VAG range so the turbos should be the same. The turbo can be purshased from a Garrett sales agent rather than direct from Skoda etc and will be much cheaper. PM me for a price.

I've had nothing but problems with my 55 Seat Leon TDi, everything happening at once, internal coolant leak, turbo about to blow, abs sensor going (could be ABS pump). Was quoted 320 inc vat for a turbo from breakers, a mate will swap it, we gave them the OEM part number but this wasn't the info they needed. Engine is BKD, but wasn't sure out of this info what they were looking for:

O.E.M. PART No: 03g 253 010jx

PART NUMBER: 724 930-5009S ?

MODEL: GT1749V

Thanks for the info, so any turbo designed for the 140ps Tdi will do? Hope you are right, can anyone else vouch for that before I fork the money out. Wonder was it the 724... Part number the breakers were lookiing for. Sorry this is all new to me, can't wait to trade the car in for something else. If you can do better than 320 let us know thxs.

If you're in or near West Yorkshire, I'd suggest you have a word with AET of Normanton.

They were knowledgable, helpful & friendly in my experience with them
