preventing water ingress

Featured Replies

Had problem with water ingress at the wiring loom connector going into the control unit on the window regulator. it messed up my central locking, exterior mirror, little red led beside door nob and the courtesy light on the door card all at the drivers door...

Got a 2nd hand loom and after a bit of trial n error got the central locking and the exterior mirror going again. before I put the door card back on I wanted to try and 'water seal' around said connector as best is possible to prevent same thing happening next winter!

somebody mentioned linoleum jelly or silicone around the connector. does this sound like a good idea?? could it cause any shorting out problems or interfere with the flow of current or anything along those lines???

thanks in advance

Don't know if Damp start is still available used to work on old Mini's keeping the Dizzy dry.
