Wheel Advice Needed....

Featured Replies

Hi mate,

The simple answer is no, they will bolt on to the hub, but with the extra width and alternative offset the new wheels will sit 3mm closer to the strut (not a problem) but they will stick out a further 41mm which is mega!! To give you an idea, most people who feel the Zenith wheel is a bit narrow and sits inboard space them out a maximum of 15-20mm, any more and the wheel will be clear of the arch.

Out of interest, have you already got one of these wheels, or are you trying to reduce your road tax by re-registering it as 3 wheeler? :giggle:

For future reference try this link when calculating wheel size/offsets.

Edit: Just found these which would fit perfect!

OEM audi TTS / TTRS wheels might be possible at a squeeze.. ?

ET 52 is v close to the OE skoda wheel, 9" wide might mean they're a bit wide.? might need slightly narrower tyres. if they dont fit you could always bung them back on to ebay. I would much prefer to go for some genuine wheels rather than some aftermarket copies of unknown quality.

There are also some very nice option/accessory wheels for the TT in 19" with similar width/ET. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Audi-19-TT-Alloy-Wheel-8J0601025AK-AC-/270598572029?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f00ee87fd

Obviously, OEM skoda zenith or neptunes would go straight on without any fitment issues.. :p

Thanks chaps, after watching Top Gear on Sunday, I would like a 3 wheeler!

I suspected they were a little on the large side, I just think they look awesome and would really suit the car.

I dont really want 19" but would have preferred genuine Audi / Skoda / VW wheels as they seem to be better built.

I have seen the "replica" RS4 wheels, and whilst they look the part, I dont want to end up with wheels that will end up bending as easily as the ones Skoda fitted.

Can anyone vouch for any of these replicas?

Does anyone know the offset etc etc of the 225/40/18 wheels currently fitted to my car?
