Service time for my 1.8T

Featured Replies

Hi All

Its service time for my 2003 superb. Full service history with cam belt change too. Last serviced by skoda dealer at 53k. It has now covered 60k. My usuage isnt high. I have always bought VAG parts from GSF spare car parts and got a local dealer to install. Question is what things do i need for this service for annual milage under 6k? Whats the recommended oil to get? I always get spark plugs (i will skip these), pollen filter, oil filter, oil and air filter. Anything else?

Was the fuel filter done last service? If not then I would get one.

As for oil, I always get the genuine Quantam stuff from TPS. It works out about £20-£25 with a genuine filter for the long life oil IIRC.

Possibly the brake fluid as well, depending when it was changed last (it's recommended to be changed every 2 years).

thanks guys, getting the bits and pieces from euro car parts apart from the oil. Will hold onto the brake oil as i will get the brakes looked at first incase the pads need changing.

Do i need a new Sump Plug too? I've got everything from Skoda Preston instead of Euro car parts. They didnt have a fuel filter in stock so it will be ordered tomorrow so was thinking do i need to order a Sump Plug too. Got all genuine parts as price wasnt too different and went for the Shell helix ultra 5w30 for £8p/ltr

You don't 'need' one, but for the price of them i always change mine.
