Can't Stop Grinning...

Featured Replies

Just wanted to say, after a week of ownership and 400 miles, I *love* my silver vRS!!

Can't think of anything in the realms of normailty I'd rather have :)

It looks great and I can't wait to gun it like I did the demonstrator I took out :D

600 miles to go....

The trip from Reading to Rockingham on Sunday will help put a dent in that.

To think, I only test drove the Skoda to appease my ultra-difficult-to-please best man who'd had an Octavia as a courtesy car when his Civic was written off...

I'm rambling.

Just thought I'd share :)

Regards,

Mark

I would hope that the majority of us on this forum share your feelings. Its not just the vRS which is good - I think the whole of the current range is good! :D

Great:D I love it every time I get in it:drive1:

Had many people looking at you/it?

The whole range is good, but the vRS is the sexiest and the most exciting! None of this 4x4 sunday drivers! :)

Sexiest - true!

Most exciting - as in "Whooooaah, I'm not going to make that cooooor-neeeer...!" :D

Sexiest - true!

Most exciting - even truer!

Boring, dull, soggy now what car would you label like this or are we going down the "I'am going to mod my car so it goes like an RS" road.

That sounds like a challenge, one that you will loose on the track, IMHO. :D;)

"Whooooaah, I'm not going to make that cooooor-neeeer...!"

Back when I was a young hooligan in my Renault 5 GT Turbo I had a couple of moments like that!

Exciting is certainly the right word!

The car had more ability han the driver so fortunately I never ended up in the hedge!!

Mark

Noticed a few turned heads as I wait to pull out at junctions :)

It's such a classy/cool looker with a good agressive "stance" (IMHO), I think the badge confuses them!

Mark

Pete

I must admit to having a soft spot for the 4X4 (In the suspension dept. mainly) but out of the box the RS is on a higher level (just not in ride height). :D

Any more clues. ;)

PS MrkyMrk just keep on grinning m8 cos It just gets better.

Grin wiped off my face this morning when I kerbed an alloy.

The missus will be pleased. Seriously. She was waiting for the first of the battle scars so that the car could become "ours" rather than a pristine toy...

Mark

Do you have an alloy spare? If so, swap it over :D

I do, but the graze is thankfully minor. My precious is no longer pristine, and the first chip, ding, scrape, however minor, hurts a lot. I can't believe I was so frickin clumsy. I'll save the spare for when (for it will happen at some point) I really thwack one of the suckers.

Mark

I'm still parking my Fabia like a woman (no offence) in case I scrape an alloy on a kerb. A very slight minor rub at 0.002 mph is the only small wound. I have a couple of tiny stone marks, but thats about it. As for the bodywork, I've got over the first chip, and now I seem to find new ones every time I was the car!

I'm not sure of the best stuff to cover the fine hedgerow scratches... They're the most obvious marks at the moment. Plus my bonnet front is starting look like Jon's - but I doubt I'll ever reach that standard :D

Mark,

I scrapped my front left wheel arch putting the car in the garage:( ......I was serioulsy p*ssed off!

Being metallic paint it chips off and is near impossible to touch up (oooeer!).

Oh well, will just have to wait to save up the readies and take it to a spray shop.

Cheers.

Adrian.

Ah, the joy of steel wheels... :D

If I scrape it, new plastic cover. If I damage it, less than 30 quid to replace. I'm going to have to

start parking a lot more carelessly... ;)

My missus is right, hard as it may be for me to swallow. These little scars, spots and imperfections are what make the cars our own.

This is the downside of a "nice" car. I had an Ibiza GTi and when that took it's lumps it hurt me. Sometimes it was my fault, sometimes it was the unavoidable **** in a carpark who uses your car as a doorstop. The liberating feeling when I got a steel-wheeled Vario 1.9 TD was refreshing. "Was that a kerb? Never mind". "Look - someone's opened their door into the wing", "It's alrght, it's just a car..."

Cheers,

Mark

Fortunate enough to have alloys *and* enough sidewall height to not worry about kerbs etc.

I can see both sides tho, I've had low profiles and dragged alloys on kerbs - it hurts!

I seem to always put two wheels on the curb everytime I see a bend. :D

Old habits die hard. ;)
