Replacing only standard speakers I have

Featured Replies

This isn't so much a "what?" but more of a "how?" If anyone is familiar with the bits of trim the rear speakers sit in, they click into the surrounding trim and are held on by two screws. When they're removed, the rear woofer comes away screwed on, with 4 screws. Once the woofer is off, how can I get anything decent to attach to this bit of plastic?

Is there a perfect fitting woofer/component system that perfectly matches the screw holes in this trim? I have spare bits of this trim from "you know where" and wondered if it was worth doing a little experiment somehow to allow me and other furby drivers to uprate their rear speakers... I guess the same applies to uprating the rear tweeters in the back doors? Don't want a perfectly matching component woofer, if the tweeter won't fit in the door. :o

Any thoughts anyone - I'd be happy to post my bit of trim to an audio shop for experiments to be done.

are the furbys the same as the octy rear speakers??

if so my pair of 5 1/4 " infinity co ax went srtaight in i choped up an old broom handle to use as spacers...as the tweeter pushed againts the trim... obviouly with comps you wont have this problem...

But the bottom line is there shoudl be spekers on teh market that will go straight in
