Scout or VRS TDI - Drive the Deal Price

Featured Replies

looking at replacing the Scout with either the VRS TDI or the new CR scout, preferably with the Columbus/maxidot & Bi-Xenons as options.

Drive the deal are doing some good deals at the moments & was wondering if anyone knows anywhere cheaper or any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

W.

Just for info no Octavia is available with Bi-Xenons. I know it says that on DTD. They've got it wrong !

The Scout and VRS are completely different cars for different needs. If you like or need a scout then the VRS is not going to be good and similarly if you really want a VRS then the Scout is not going to cut it. You need to really decide what you need/want the car to do and then pick the one that fits that.

As far as price go DtD is probably the cheapest deals around. Some dealers will match it but only the odd one will actually beat the price (and then only by a little and not all the time-depends on time of month and number of sales).

In my experience in buying a vRS, the DtD price is about the lowest around. Most dealers won't get anywhere near it, some will get closer, but even dealers who have matched it for another customer may not do so again. I eventually went for a dealer who came close to the DtD price but felt would give me good service. The purchase experience with them so far has been superb.

Also bear in mind that the DtD Skoda dealer is in West London and you'll have to collect the car if it's on finance or have it delivered by driver (not trailored) if it's fully paid for. And they won't do a p/x at those prices.

We used them for wife's car and had no problems with them at all, but I used a more local dealer who got to within £150 of the DtD price for my vRS, but was only 30 miles away and not 200.

Bought our Scout from a dealer in Kent who virtually matched DTD, if you factor in DTD only give 6 months tax it was within 50 squids but great personal service.

As for which to buy they are totally different cars, I love the Scout & it can be hurled around + the 4WD makes it far more stable in the wet. I also feel risuduals will hold up better, s/hand ones in good nick are rare hense one of the reasons we ended up getting a new one

After reading this I have just specced out an Octavia 2.0 TDI CR vRS 5dr, with the following options :-

Front & Rear parking sensors, Maxidot, full size spare, and flat paint, am absolutely flabbergasted at the quote from DTD £16,740 they are quoting a saving of a few pence under £4,100.

Worth a serious look

Sounds good, but you'll want Xenons on there too.

Just a quick note that DTD price does include 12 month car tax... I have a car on order with them currently and the order documentation clearly states this.

So far the order process has been smooth with them; Although the car is not scheduled for delivery until early October.

They do represent great value at that sort of money. Can't think of anything else that comes close this side of £20K.

As for spec, I'd forgo the front parking sensors (but the rears are essential in my view), but consider the xenons and heated leather seats (I find them much more comfortable than the standard ones as the seat base is slightly different).
