Wrong location on sat nav (columbus)

Featured Replies

Please help

I collected my superb elegance yesterday and am chuffed. However the sat nav is shown in Basingstoke and will not move. (im in bucks)

Is there a master reset i can do. This car is a year old and was picked up from a skoda dealer.

I dont want to have to drive the car back to the dealer if it is a simple fix.'

It would appear that it is not picking up any satalites.

many thanks for any help

did you check the gps antenna mayb e its defect???

make sure you press the icon on screen, so that the nav will follow you. (second down on right) if present. otherwise, yes it will just sit there.

Yes i have clicked on the car on the touch screen and still no change.

Reboot procedure (like a computer Ctrl/Alt/Del) is press buttons at top of columbus </>/i simultaneously.

I have had trouble when VCDS error report showed gps antenna not connected

Problem resolved by removing the Columbus HU and repositioning the antenna cable located bottom centre of back panel. Test the unit while it is out to see GPS signal count jump from 0. You can check how many satellites are being seen by pressing MAP, then press it again and a small window will open, then use the dropdown list to select "GPS Status" and it will show the number being seen. I didn't disconnect ANY wires to do this.

Thread here describes how to remove the plastic surround to expose 4 screws for HU removal.

Right i removed the HU today and tryed to wiggle the wire with no luck.

Also removed the connector to check the pin was not bent etc and all good. Still no sats shown though.

Thisk there is no option but to be back at dealer next week. i think it will need new arial. Or HU

Not impressed this was not picked up before selling the car.
