Fuel Filter for 1.4MPI

Featured Replies

Looking to replace the fuel filter on my Dad's Fabia 1.4MPI, 2000 W Reg. Bought one in Halfords but was clearly the wrong one when attempting to fit, it only had two connectors, the old one has three hose connections.

Does anyone know the part number, I think its 6Q0201511 but would like to check first. Many thanks in advance.

Not sure mate. Bloody halfords thats effin typical. Try phonin your Skoda dealer they're really helpful mostly.

Think it was around £15 from SKoda for the proper one on my 16v 1.4 - might be worth trying them as I can't see Halfords being much cheaper.

Just give them the VIN or reg number, and they can get it for you.

Thanks for your help, Been out to look at the filter again, managed to pull the label off, its a 6Q0 201 512, which has now been superseded by 6Q0 201 051 - a three part filter, valve and clip system.

See http://www.mann-hummel.com/ukmf/upload/doc/HBVJUwimiQU.pdf for pictures

Currently too far from the nearest Skoda dealer (40 miles), so will have to try a VW dealer in the morning as it also fits the Polo.

Managed to order a new filter from VW, got it back home and took the old one off, the excess fuel was a horrible black colour coming out the old filter!

Put the new one on and the car would not start!, tried filling the filter with fuel, clearing any airlocks, priming the pump, but nothing would work.

Had to put the old one back to get the car going.

Will be taking the filter back to VW for a refund this afternoon.

It was 6Q0 201 051 B, which appeared to be the correct one as on the dealers computer system.

The only weird thing was the computer showed a three part system, but the filter was all in one, much like the old one that I was replacing.
