13 pin to 7 pin trailer socket converter

Featured Replies

If you've a trailer with a 7 pin electrics plug, you'll need a converter to connect to your SM's 13 pin socket.

Having seen the price of Skoda's official part (£16 or £47 if you buy the "fly lead" type), I took a chance & bought one on eBay for £0.99 plus postage.

Ok, it comes from Hong Kong via Singapore, it's obviously a copy and the plastic may not be as robust in the long term, but at that price, even if it only lasts a couple or three years, I can't complain.

It arrived after a rather long 10 day wait but, when compared side by side with the official Skoda converter, I cant tell the difference, same moulding marks etc, it feels the same, it just doesn't say Skoda on it.

And after several uses, it works fine.

No snags yet then & I've saved £13+

Hi!

I agree that for this particular piece of equipment there's no need to purchase a branded one. The trailer connections are (at least almost) worldwide standards, and connecting 7 pins to the correct pins in a 13 pin plug is not exactly rocket science. I also have a non-brand converter, and it's working just fine.
