Collinite 476S or FinishKare 1000P

Featured Replies

I'm coming to the end of my trusty tin of Collinite 476S which has done me proud on a number of cars over the last few years (supplemented with a selction of Dodo panel pots for summer use).

Two obvious contenders for a replacement - more 476S or give the FK1000P a try.

Which would you go with for a good all rounder to be used on a selection of different colours - black, blue and yellow cars all feature in the current fleet!

Not heard much about FK1000P Andy - have I had my head in the sand? And what do the assembled oracles of DW say? :)

I'd say there was an argument for 'going with what you know' - but as is always the case with car products, you are sometimes left wondering if you're missing out on something even better?!

I still tend to stick with 476S as a hardy base wax coat, and then top-up the next day with either Victoria Concourse of Blackfire Midnight Sun. That combo's always left me happy :)

Cheers,

Steve

I seem to remember our own resident detailing guru (:giggle:) has recommended the FK1000P in the past, on the back of that - mine should be arriving tomorrow

Good idea - found a DW Poll on the subject - http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=136377

At the time of posting this, the vote is very evenly split - 56 for Collinite and 59 for the Finish Kare

I have used FK1000p a fair bit now and it's a bit of a no brainer, it seems to be as durable and comes in a bigger tin for a similar price, cheaper at some places, so if I were you Andy I would give it a try, if you don't like it I am sure someone will buy it off you...........

Oh and by the way, it's also just as durable on wheels if you used your 476s for that........... :p

Better than Jetseal 109? That's my current preference for wheels?

When you look at it on the the seller's websites you don't get an impression of how much bigger it is, but here is my new FK1000P tin pictured next to my old Collinite 476S...

14.5 oz vs 9oz so as you said it is excellent value for money.
