Hi all

I've done a search for fitting additional 12v cigarette lighter plugs elsewhere in the car & hardwiring my satnav but cannot find a comprehensive guide to doing this. Can anyone help?

I've just picked up a Octavia II VRS and as far as I am aware the only 12v supply is the one near the handbrake which isn't exactly practical. I'm after specific details on how I can either hardwire my satnav to the fusebox (or similar) or install another 12v female plug near the dash that I can plug my satnav into.

I also need to plug a headrest DVD player in for our little un, ideally into an additional 12V supply located somewhere near the back seats (rear ashtray section/cubbyhole?) What are the easiest ways to achieve these two things?

As mentioned I have tried a search, but can't find anything conclusive.

Guess you have the saloon? the estate has another in the boot, I have found over the years with two kids and many long trips with many electrical devices that a combination of extensions and adapters ( ie 1 into 4 sockets) seems to work and doesnt involve making any holes etc. But dont do what I did, left a fridge plugged in overnight on a ferry to France, result flat battery, rather irate holiday makers behind us and extrememly red face on my part!!
