Help... My remote not working

Featured Replies

Wotcha Guys.

I need help. Last year my main key fob broke. I went to use the spare and again this didn't work either.

I replaced the battery on the spare and still no joy. I had the key re-coded but the car still did not recognise it.

I managed to fix the main fob by putting a little solder on the switch.

Recently the wife has been using my octy and has been using the spare key, amazingly the remote worked, up until yesterday.

Now niether fob will work remotely althogh they are both sending a signal.............. :wonder:

Any ideas?

Or is there anybody in the Medway area with a VAGCOM tht could do me a favor and visit to see if there is any fault codes?

Waiting in anticipation.

GC.

If you've still got two keys you can try re-coding the remote on one of them to the car.

1. Switch Ignition ON (position one) with one key and leave the key in the ignition.

2. Mechanically lock the vehicle using the Drivers door using the key you want to re-code.

3. Using the remote control part of the second key press the Unlock button once. Indicators will flash once.

4. Wait 6 seconds and press the unlock button once again to activate the coding procedure. The remote control will now be programmed.

5. Switch Ignition OFF.

6. Remove key from ignition and check for operation.
