Rear tyre wear

Featured Replies

I've been getting a strange noise from the rear tyres on my Octi mk2. Dealer tells me they are wearing unevenly and this is causing the noise.

Anybody know why the uneven wear as dealer says all suspension settings OK?

They've down to 5mm and I'm reluctant to change so soon.

Many thanks

mk1 or mk2?

Can you describe the uneven wear any more?

Could be badly shaped tyres.

mk1 could be bent rear beam, worn shocks, worn bushes

My Octy munches through a set of rear tyres every 30k miles due to dodgy wear.

Sorry for the delay, I've been on hols.

It's a Mk2 2.0 TDI. The wear pattern is a "feathered" outside edge. There's only 14k on them and the tread depth is 4.5mm

Try MK11 forum and search, loads on there about this problememoticon-0148-yes.gif
