Octavia 1 -low power

Featured Replies

Hi folks, problem probably been covered before but can't find it easily!............I have a 1999 Octavia 1 estate with only 34000 on clock. car seems to have decreased in power since I got it (~7000 miles ago) although I am beginning to doubt if it has ever gone 'properly'. Now ,there is hardly any power above 2000 revs., Vagcom indicates 'Fuel Temp. Sensor (G81)'....what does this mean ? , is it the problem?, where is the sensor?. Have read lots of stuff about MAFs going 'bad' over time-are the two related?

Thanks

A dodgy fuel temp sensor will slightly affect your timing/fueling. (lifted from seatCupra.net) I think it will cause overfueling? there is a link from this page that shows location (A3 but should be the same)linky

petrol or diesel? a dodgy maf won't help either.
