Delivery Delays

Featured Replies

I went this afternoon to go and give my dealer a bit of 'grief'

Ordered car 5th of may, hoping to have it delivered THIS saturday. First delay was to w/c 23rd Aug, New delay is build week 33 (w/c 16/8)

As I have road tax to pay for ont he 1st of September, and my next payment on my car is due on the 9th of September, they agreed that they would loan me a car. Anyway, when I went in to work stuff out, he told me that Greece are not fulfilling their order quota, so some cars are going to be made a bit quicker (bumb up a week or so)

He told me that sales over the last few weeks have been dire as, as soon as people find out the lead time, people think twice as they are prepared to pay wait for an Audi or BMW, but no Skoda.

Rough with the smooth, but it is a shame they are loosing sales for being so popular.

He reckons that the vat free offer has to be changed to the same level of discount, but called somehting else.

Different cars have had very different lead times.

I have spec'd my L&K to the hilt. It is a DSG with sunroof, front sensors, MFS sunset glass, so this is probably why it has taken a bit longer.

My last couple of cars have been pre-reg, but having looked at the prices of 6 month old skodas, there was no point in getting used.

I did check wiht Skoda, and the dealer did put the order in on the 7th of May, so there was no real delay there.

Enjoy your new car.
