Can anyone measure height of spare wheel + kit box?

Featured Replies

please? Its basically to find out the length I need to make up a "support" for my boot floor now I have nothing actually in the wheel well besides the battery. The floor keeps dipping into the well at the edges, particularly at the bootlid end.

About 7.5inches in height

grrr, i had that all out the boot today to put some air into the spare, should have asked earlier !

Cool - Gives me the chance to make my first draft now :D Fit tomorrow :D

Is that definitely spare wheel and the jack kit box sat in it? I know the box sits proud a good way and spare wheel width is about 6" :)

The 14'' spare steel is 6'', and the 16'' spare steel is 6.5'' add about 1/2 for the kit box and the 7.5'' should give you room for error

Well, I now have a 7.5" tube to try out in the morning. Got another 4 feet of tube to play with though. ;)

Is it me, or does the above sound incredibly rude! :D

Well I've just measured mine and it's 225mm from the recess base to the top of the box - that's nearly 9 inches. Go get a new tube!

It's pointless quoting the wheel width because that's measured internally - the actual external wheel width is greater by the thickness of the rims and the tyre's wider still - about 210mm
