With that much power how fast is the 3.6 litre V6 Superb?

The maths say around 170 for that much power but is there something else other than a electronic limiter ie gearing?

The speed will be limited to the gearing, wheel diameter and Aerodynamic drag.

For example the Golf GTi is 3mph slower than the Octavia vRS due to it's shape.

I don't think 260bhp is enough for 170mph in the Superb.

I've had 168 out of my vRS on the autobahn (according to satnav) but i'm Stage 2+

Just re-did the figures and 265 hp, in a Octavia or Superb relates to more like 165 mph.

170 mph needs more like 290 hp at the engine ie about 250 hp at the back wheels.

I imagine it is getting power to be made at the available gearing is more the problem. We have a TSI VRS and I think it is about 25 mph per 1000 revs in top on the GPS. So 150 mph is 6K revs but over 165 is in the red I guess but I suppose you know because you have been there. Is it true there is an absolute limit of about 7200 prm on the VAG electronics?

That gearing isn't quite right (well not for the Pre-FL TFSi vRS) as at 80mph its 3k rpm.

To get 168mph i was virtually redlining in 6th. This is me doing 162mph (again on the autobahn) but that was at stage 1. You will notice that at around 160mph im doing 6krpm in 6th.

When i got 168mph i was just about nudging the redline.

The limit is not 7200 as far as i know as most of the K04 cars go to about 7.5krpm. DSG cars can have a DSG box remap to allow the rev limit to be 8krpm iirc.
