Couple of questions about the columbus unit and the version of the maps software

1. How do you find out what version of the maps I currently have installed?(running version B of the columbus software)

2. How does one get hold of the maps outside of the Skoda dealership?

You need test mode to be enabled to check the Firmware & Map version.

The latest maps are V6.1 you can't get them officially outside a VAG dealer.

Is that a laptop job?

Testmode needs to be enabled with VCDS or a Modified Firmware.

Press and hold setup for 30 secs and you may get to the test menu depending on the firmware. It was disabled after version 1024.

If not then it's VCDS or the modded firmware

You can buy V6 maps for Columbus from uvworldwide.co.uk cost about £80 I think as opposed to around £150-£200 from a dealer.
