Trip Computer

Featured Replies

I am confused fellow Yeti folk. My long term readout (no. 2 screens) on my trip computer resets itself after I refuel. I thought that it should keep recording data until it is reset or reaches 999.9 miles. Cannot see what I am missing. Maybe this is how it has been set up from factory (I have no maxidot to adjust such things) or maybe there is a small glitch in the system. If it is a fault, it is not sufficient to justify a special dealer visit but if it is something that I can adjust then that would be great. Any ideas? Thanks.

The trip counter does not change, unless you reset it with the #7 button on the dash.

The #1 values in the display resets itelf if you have not driven the car for 2 hours.

The #2 resets itself if you have not driven for a much longer time - I think a week, but have not fund it in the manual. No relation to filing fuel on the car. See correct description in Terfyn's post below.

The maximum is 9999.9 km on LH drive cars, I assume the same in miles in UK versions.

Both #1 and # 2 can be reset by holding the B button on the WW stalk for >1 second when displaying any of the mileage related functions in that range.

The point about #2 is that it does not or should not automatically reset after refuelling.

The official version for memory #2:-

Total-trip memory (memory 2)

The total distance driven memory gathers data from any number of individual journeys

up to a total of 99 hours and 59 minutes driving or 9.999 kilometres driven. The

memory is deleted when either of these limits is reached and the calculation starts

from anew.

Trip #2 shouldn't reset itself by itself unless as others have said you over nearly 100 hours driving time or X,XXX amount of miles.

Thanks for the replies.

Mine resets itself without me reaching the stated limits and so it seems as though I have a glitch in the system. Everything else works fine and so I'll have it looked at during the first service perhaps.

Same problem here, although it's not happening EVERY time, but every now and then... I don't have a clue what is related to ... Anyone with a solution or explanation?

On vehicles without a Maxidot display, like mine, memory 2 resets at 20 hours total drive time or 2,000 Km, according to the handbook. Mine has now reset twice in 2,500 miles. The 100 hour/10,000Km limit is for vehicles with Maxidot.

Thanks for that. I don't remember reading that in the manual. I'll have a look through it tonight.
