pd130 vs pd150

Featured Replies

I've heard various things about the two engines saying there identical, and I have also been told the they have difference compression ratios etc, does anyone know if:

The compression ratios different on the PD150?

There any other differences between the 2 engines other than the turbo?

Cheers in advance

Danny

Pretty sure it's just turbos, intercoolers..

those figures relate to the bhp? and the 1.9 was available in more power varients than just 130 and 150 yes, I mean theres also the ibiza cupra 160 tdi?

and while we're on a roll, I could be mistaken, but wasnt there a PD 90 aswell?

the 90 and 110 variants did not use the PD system, they had a bosch injection pump if memory is correct, not the unit injectors of the PD engine which first appeard i believe in the fabia mk1 VRS on the skoda range

the 1.6 and 2.0 engines in the current range are both common rail

interesting, I didnt know that about the 90 and 110, but was aware of the new common rail types.

Turbo, intercooler, map, head bolts.

Otherwise Identical.

LOL i already got the pd150 bine, it needs hybridding, but scared it may be needing a refurbed as im getting some strange noises until the cars warm, but gonna replace all the exhaust/mani gaskets this weekend as I have a sneaky feeling it could be that, if not, its going to turbo dynamics for hybridding. ahhhh lol

dam you beat me to it

my octy vrs ones have done that...cant wait to get them properly reconditioned tbh, but gotta wait and see if its only my gaskets that are nailed, really hope its not turbo, it sounds like a kazoo.

lol hope not to mate that wont be cheap

Differences are:- turbo, inlet manifold, egr body, map, camshaft, boost pipe routing from the turbo and egr pipe from manifold is at a different angle, also injectors are slightly different emoticon-0148-yes.gif
