Double DIn in a MK1 Octavia VRS

Featured Replies

If I was to buy myself a double din head unit, will this be a straight forward fit? just remove the old single din head unit and lower tray?

Thanks in advance for any help :) just struggling to find the right info I'm after.

Think you'll need an adapter panel there's a few on ebay

You'll need a fitting kit which includes a cage to fit into the hole, a pair of brackets which screw onto the stereo so you can slide it in and out of the cage, a couple of keys to release those brackets when you want to take the stereo out, and a plastic fascia surround. You may also need to cut out some of the plastic at the back of the hole depending on how deep the H/U goes back.

The ebay kits are about £35 and it's the Mk4 Golf one you want, I think the Octavia one they sell is meant for the Mk2.

I'll have a kenwood dnx 7200 complete with a bits required to plug and play, and can give you advice on minor mods behind the stereo required to fit any double din unit,. the kenwood does dvd's, ipod control Sat nav and traffic alerts ...I won't post the price as this is not a FS thread , if you want more info drop me pm
