Not the usual door card removal question

Featured Replies

Okay so i'm poor and have the classic which has manual windows :(

But how do i get the damn handle off when i'm removing the door cards. its the only thing holding them on at the moment

Please help :)

On my rear doors, I ended up snapping the plastic bits. :o but it was on the wreckage so didn't really matter. I'd love to know the proper "how to" for manual door handle winding removal too. :D

look behind the handle, it may well have a circlip(sp) that holds it on, thats what most of my old cars had. it should be on the back of that actual handle and inline with it if you know what i mean. hope this helps

Bengie cheers for the tip it gave me inspiration and i have just done it :D

Here's how to do it:

Lever the handle away from the door card (i used an ice scraper so not to scratch the plastic), so that the back plasitc ring piece isn't touching the door.

Then slide the ring to the left and the handle just drops off in your hand :D

 Good news - time to lather my rear door cards with vinyl tile insulation then! :D
