Sound System

Featured Replies

Just a quick question I have regarding the sound system in our Skoda Fabia 1, 1.2 12v 2009 model. The fade to rear speakers on the radio doesn't seem to work, is this because there are no speakers in the rear doors? There are mouldings that would suggest they are speakers or is this the problem with buying a basic model? Thanks for any suggestions.

I think you get 4 as standard but it may be tweeters in front pillars and speakers in front doors. My Greenline came with 8.

The 1 trim does not have rear speakers but does share the same Dance radio as in all the other pre fl models. The hu does have 4 channel out. Simply add rear 6.5 inch co-axials (or components if you don't mind making holes for the tweeters). Youi'll also need to add cabling and baffles/adapter plates. Can make your own or buy some Autoleads ones.

Thanks fabia55 and mrgf for your replies, I thought as much. Looks like I am going to have to do a bit of electrical work myself!!!!!

Really pleased with the car(only had it two days) but what a great place the forum is, very helpful. Cheers Guys

Welcome diplodocus, actually we're all mean and horrible on this site, except to new people!! Only joking...glad you like your new car. Post regularly to let us all know how you are getting on.

The System in my Mk1 Fabia was nice but the system in my new Mk2 is brilliant as i had the extra speakers fitted. It has a nice deep bass and rich sound.

i personally wouldn't bother with components in the back as you would need to cut out the blanking plate or make a hole for the tweeter and the stock position is in the same place as the mark 1 - and it was too close to the front passenger's ears. I used to have a mark 1 fabia (55 reg) and the imaging was terrible - it brought the sound stager back making it sound like the vocals were coming from behind you. Co-axials would do the job just running off the hu for rear fill.

........is this the same problem of the tweeter with the fabia 3???

the problem with the mark 1 fabia which have tweeters in the rear doors is that it's too close to the front passenger/driver's ear bringing the sound stage backwards but the mid range is coming from the front, it ruined the sound stage.

i guess it would be the same problem with the mark 2 fabia.
