Folding the centre rear seat in Elegance model

Featured Replies

Hello

I took a test drive this morning in a 2.0 TDI Elegance. I was trying out at the rear seat folding options and found that when I tried to fold the seats right forward so that thay are agaisnst the front seats, the centre seat would not go flush. Instead it knocked against the console (jumbo box?) and would not go perpendicular - it stayed, perched at a strange 80 degree angle and would just fall back. I asked the sales person who said that it would not fold flush in the elegance model and that there were little elastic hooks to tie it on to the front seat.

Can anyone tell me if this is right? I thought it was really odd that the lower end models fold flat, but the elegance won't so am hoping that someoen can clarify.

Many thanks ( and sorry for the really basic question)

Hi!

I (and some other members as well) have noticed the same problem/feature (depending on who you ask). This seems to be a design fault in the otherwise well planned car. I saw some comments that if you don't have the cup holders in the back of the centre seat you can push it over the jumbo box and get it upright, but as the cupholders include plastic cover for the back of the seat this is no longer possible.

Fold seat back flat, lift the seatbase up as far as possible, raech under and undo catches and lift up. Then stand vertical on the little rubber feet supplied, between the other seats and use the bungee cord to clip to a headrest bar to hold in place. Takes seconds and I don't think you even need to remove the headrest first.
