Replacing 07 VRS front foglight?

Featured Replies

I recently cracked the front passenger side fog light on my 07 Octavia VRS. I've bought a replacement lamp from TPS, but was wondering how you get access to the fixing screws to change it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Easiest way to replace or get access to the fog lights is to remove the front bumper which is not as daunting as this may first sound. You need to remove the undertray which is fixed by Torx screws then to remove the bumper there are more Torx screws, a couple hide behind the bottom two side grilles and in the wheel housing, plus some push fit fixings. If you have Xenons then you'll need a clamp of some sort to stop washer fluid going everywhere.

With the bumper removed it's a very straight forward process changing the fog light.

HTH .. I'm sure there is a picture 'How To' somewhere on here which I'll try and find a link to.

Nice one mate, that link would be handy.

I hate 'new' cars, having to remove a bumper just to replace a foglight is a joke!

:o hello perhaps I don't have to take the bumper off after all.

Anyone got the right info? :D

Sorry to confuse you but I 'thought' the only way to get to the fog light was by removing the bumper but it seems I may be wrong. I'm sure someone will be along to confirm either way emoticon-0148-yes.gif

I thought it was a bumper off job too Steve

Unless you can take the undertray off and get enough room to access that way. Feel it would be easier overall with the bumper off.

How much were the units from TPS by the way?

Cheers,

Steve

Not sure what the list price is tbh. I've got a mate who works there so I get a good discount, think I paid 30something quid.

Cheers.

And if you do need to remove the bumper, that step should be detailed on Forge's twincooler fitting guide for the Octy2 vRS TFSi: link

Nice one mate. As for the fog lamp, I found the receipt, and it turns out the RRP is £70.37, and I paid just over £50 ;)
