Simple question (I think) today, I was wondering if there is much difference between branded IC's, OEM IC's and unbranded IC's?

Is the differences much like exhausts? or is it more like tyres? :S

I had a read on how IC's work (I.e. calculations vs air flow vs effectiveness), and it seems that so long as the measurements are not "too extreme" it will generally be beneficial, this kind of leads me to believe that there is not much difference in brand vs OEM vs no brand..?

Im tempted in changing something little more efficient however it seems the going rate is £500+ for branded parts, I really don't see the value in that.. :|

if made properly and not cheap chinee rubbish a branded fmic or uprated smic should outperform stock.

see octavia forums recent post about uprated smics, i have one fitted, and am sure millsey would be up for doing a fabia one for a lot less than £500
