After a long wait, my shiny new Yeti has finally made it to the dealer, and I'm picking it up next week. Yay!

1.8 TSI Elegance in Storm Blue metallic, with Gobi Sand leather. Park Assist, rough-road pack, TPM, spare wheel, and upgraded sound-system (for the wife - she likes her rock music *loud*).

Nearly went for the Columbus, but at £1,400 it was a lot of money, and I'm happy enough with my Garmin - which only cost £150 :-)

Since it's been a long while since I bought a new car, any advice on things to check or questions to ask the dealer before I drive away?

Storm Blue metallic with Light leather sounds like a great combo.

If it's in the showroom, check it's not been scratched by people looking inside and outside. People can be careless when they think it's just a demo and it's not theirs.

I checked my car all over when delivered by the lease company and it seemed fine. What I didn't spot were some nasty short scratches on the inside face of the black roof rail on one side. Easy too miss when you are looking around the body as it is an inside facing surface on the roof. Probably done by someone using it as a handhold with a ring on!
