Remote heather Control

Featured Replies

Hi

Great forum

Bought my brand new Superb Estate 2.0 TDI DSG Elegance in Sweden, and imported the car in to Norway. Money saved :)

When I got my car I noticed that the remote controll for my heather was missing. Was in contact with the dealer, which posted me a new remote controll. The challenge I have is as follow.

When I push the ON button, it flash green for prox 2 second. Which again tells me that it has no connection to the car.

How can I relearn the remotecontroll?

Any who knows?

Hi Ragnar & welcome :) Hope you enjoy your Superb. You might have more luck if you edit it as 'Heater remote control problem'. Just a thought?

The manual says:

Lights up green for 2 seconds. = The auxiliary heating was switched on.

Lights up red for 2 seconds. = The auxiliary heating was switched off.

Slowly flashes green for 2 seconds. = The ignition signal was not received.

Quickly flashes green for 2 seconds. = The auxiliary heating is blocked, e. g because the tank is nearly empty or there is a fault in the auxiliary heating.

Flashes red for 2 seconds. = The switch off signal was not received.

Lights up orange for 2 seconds, then green or red. = The battery is weak, however the switching on or off signal was received.

Lights up orange for 2 seconds, then flashes green or red. = The battery is weak, however the switching on or off signal was not received.

Flashes orange for 5 seconds. = The battery is discharged, however the switching on or off signal was not received.

Pairing the remote control with the car should be done using the dealer diagnostic tool, but you could try the "stone age" way (which works when retrofitting a Webasto remote in Octavia cars)

Remove fuse for heater remote reciever/ECU, (I don't remember which one it is, but it should be easy to find in the users manual) install the fuse again, and before 5 seconds have passed, press one of the buttons on the remote for at least one second. If pressing the "off" button doesn't work, try the "on" button after having removed the fuse once more.

Good luck!

The manual says:

Does anyone happen to know how this feature could be disabled (heating blocked due to nearly empty tank) e.g. using VCDS?

As far as I understand the heater consumption is about 0.5litres/hour and the low fuel warning lamp is activated in the car when there is about 10 litres of gasoline left in the tank. This would mean either 120 km of driving or 40 times of 30 min heating periods.

I don't find it very smart that I'm not able to use the heater when there is still gasoline enough for 40 times of heating before the tank would be empty. It's almost like having only 50 litres tank instead of 60 litres...
