Fabia ACC 12v+ dead?

Featured Replies

Hi there, I've got a Fabia MK1 and the ACC line which should power up the hu appears to be dead- yet the perm 12v line is fine and the previous owner was powering the hu using that instead! My guess is, judging by the quality of his wiring, it shorted out at some point... But fuses in the box are fine. Are there any inline fuses I'm missing? Any ideas?

Cheers, James.

Have you checked all the fuses not just the ones associated to the ACC? There are no additional fuses to those in the fuse box for the ACC.

Which HU are you using?

This is a stupid question but...you are sure that the ACC line is an ACC line?

Is the ignition live you mention wrapped in cloth tape with all the other lines in the harness? If it's not and is a single wire that dissapears behind the cubby hole chances are your previous owner tried to wire an ignition live in and failed to complete the job.

When I fitted a new head unit to my missus' Fabia 1 (MY2001) I had to use the (JVC supplied) modified adapter patching permanent live to both Ignition live and permenent live on the head unit. There was no Ignition live in that particular Fabia.

Most modern aftermarket HUs require permanent live anyway. The permanent live allows the unit to keep the users settings, clock, and other pre-sets with ignition off.

Best Regards,

Mark
