service counter - variable service

Featured Replies

I had my car serviced last week at indy garage and they noticed when resetting the service counter it was set to variable and 18600km total or 2 years

which meant after 11000 miles the spanner came on.

i had a mate with VCDS reset it properly to 18600 miles or 2 years.

just been checking service counter regularly to make sure all is good after it gets past the ----- stage.

it's started reading but at 8900 miles now it's down to 8800miles.

i was expecting it to start at 9000 (like on my previouly owned Audi) then jump up to 18000 ish.

can somone advise me on whether my service counter is still not right.

Many thanks

Ian

Hi Ian,

How may days is the display showing until next service/ If it is reading around 360- 370 mark then it sounds like your service indicator has been set to fixed servicing regime.

730 ish. We set VCDS on drop down menu to 186 miles x 100 or 736 days variable. Unless it's my driving...... :D

i'll keep an eye on it but it's not what i expected from past experience.
