Super Resin Polish (AutoGlym)

Featured Replies

Just purchased some Super Resin Polish. 8.00 pound for large bottle, brand new. Had to have it, but when should I use it. Can I use it after every wash? Can I wax over it?

???? Help me out!

I wouldnt use it after every wash, remember it's a polish and not a wax. You can can apply it 2 or 3 times in one go to layer it up a bit. Try puttiing some AG Extra Gloss Protection on top of it, this will make it last at least 6 months, during which time you will only need to wash your car and thats it.

Just to add to the above that AG SRP does contain fillers so if you have minor swirling it will help disguise this. However it will wear off in time and will lift off completely if you should decide to clay or use a paintwork cleaner or cleaner / sealant on the car or if you use too strong a wash solution.

^^ totally agree with the above.

its a polish (to make your car shine), you'd need a sealent or wax on top to seal it.

Actually it's mostly a sealant (an chemical polymer version of a wax) it has a very, very light cutting action due to a small amount of polishing material in it and is generally regarded as a mis-named product in the trade.

It's a one step, polish (very light, designed to clean) and seal for easy application and removal by almost anyone. You could apply after each wash but it isn't necessary (unless you wash every 3 months!) but you should re-apply when the water beading from rain or washing start to flatten out. As it's not super durable, you don't want to wait until the beading goes flat. This is probably going to be every 1 or 2 months depending on conditions, weather, how much the car is used etc.

I have a bottle or two and it's a nice easy one to start off with.

EDIT: Oh and you don't really want to put a wax on top, if you're going to top coat it, use something like AG extra gloss protection which is designed to go on top (another polymer). Using wax, you have to remove the wax next time around to get the AG SRP to stick to the paint as polymer on top of wax doesn't work.

Its actually an All in One Cleaner, polisher and sealer

Use it to clean and polish the paint then add asealer or wax or both on top.

It will last 4 to 6 months.

DONT use SRP more than 4 times a year as its removing a few microns of top coat every time you polish

I'd have to disagree with the timings and cutting power of the product (a few microns is a awful lot of paint!) as above, but for all you want to know about the product, and probably a lot more see the FAQ on detailing world http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=100889

I think some of these posts mights scare the op from using it. It's really nice and easy to use, just get some Extra Gloss Protection and whack some of that on after, this stuff goes on even easier and will maintain the beading like mentioned. If you search for it on YouTube or even the Autoglym website there are some videos showng it being applied. Piece of cake mate ;)

Agreed, it's one of the easiest to use products on the market and is designed around that.

i use the AG Deepshine which is basically the same thing but gives better results on a darker coloured car and to seal it i use the AG extra gloss protection.

nearly two months on its still beading strong!

i just top up the extra gloss protection when i feel it needs it.

Intresting reading this thread, I have Super Resin Polish from Auto Glym I tend to use this stuff a couple of times a year to polish the car.
