Which Tyres? & Where From?

Featured Replies

I know there are several tyre threads on here & I will do a search for them.

However I'd appreciate your suggestions/comments on which tyres are currently the best option for my 2007 Petrol Vrs on 18's and where the best place to buy is?

I don't think I am terribly hard on tyres, I am certainly no speed or performance freak. My mileage is right down now that we have the people carrier for the bairns. I am probably only doing 5k a year & the car has done less than 22k at 3.5yrs old. My drive to work is a mix of dualler for about 3-4 miles & 3-4miles in town each way - so about 60-75 miles a week. I've extended the warranty - have 18months left, so will likely have the car that long (at least! - although the VAT free offer is tempting !)

I've Vredstein Ultrac Sessanta's on the front (as recommended on here at the time), from memory they only went on at 14k (so maybe I am harder on tyres than I think !) - I'll probablybe lucky to get them much past 10k !!! They cost a reasonable £125ish a corner, look great & have performed well enough (IMHO better than the original Conti's that are still on the rear).

Anyway, I am fairly sure those Vredstein's are no longer available or I'd have just gone for them again, what are the best alternatives right now? I usually use a localish independant who has done me well in the past. However when we were looking for replacements for the Mazda, I am not sure he was that competitive. He was pushing the likes of Hancooks the last time out (I did some research & they looked pretty decent)...certainly they looked decent value next to the Pirelli's & Dunlops he also quoted on. We fitted Kumho's to the Mazda in the end (replacing the faulty Dunlop SP2050's at 7k - another thread on here if interested).

Like I say, would appreciate your thoughts...(again !)
