LPG for 1.2 and 1.8 TSI engines?

Featured Replies

Just speculation, but:

i) will either or both of these engines run on LPG?

ii) where would the tank go?

and

iii) are there any companies doing this conversion?

Fred,I have my Golf V6 4motion converted to LPG from the first link on Mac's list.

Now The previous owner had it done so I have as of yet no first hand dealings with them until I go there to have it serviced early next year.

The prevouis owner was so impressed he used to go every year to them for a service from Redruth.

Its a very tidy install and you don't feel to much of a decrease in power from LPG.

Cost me £26 for a 45L fill up! Noice!

At the moment LPG conversion for direct injection engines is still at a starting point.

The Vialle group is ready to install LPG direct injection http://www.vialle.nl/producten/lpdi.html?L=1

the problem is that this kind of equipent have to be approved for each single engine and for each single car.

on this italian page

http://www.baldiegovoni.it/site/impianto-vialle-lpdi.html

there's a list of cars already approved.

among them there is our engine code (1.2 TSI CBZB) but not our car.

I've just asked for availability and price.

i will let you know soon

ps

For the 1.8 TSI shoul be ready the PRINS direct injection http://www.prinsautogas.com/en/search_results.html
