Thankyou for the warm welcome. Can any one help with why the felicia engine sounds like a bag of nails rattling. It has been the same for the last 4 years but has never got any worse. Could it be the timing chain or tappets ????. Your help would be appreciated.

I had one in 2003 - it permanently sounded like a castanet cabaret act in full swing - think its just noisy tappets, but could be wrong...? If its been like that for years and not got any worse, and seems to be running fine otherwise, its probably just its erm 'natural' noise?!

You dont give the mileage, but timing chain is a good bet. The kit isnt too expensive from JoRily and includes everything you need except oil. Fitting is not too hard either; even my idiot son managed it!!

try adjusting the valve clearances first, but other than that it will most likely be a noisy timing chain
