Getting fed up and really would appreciate some advice

Featured Replies

Hello all, I am looking for a MK1 V RS estate or hatch for a second family car. My topline budget is £3.5k which I think should buy a good car with a nice spec. Trouble is the cars im investigating all seem to be a bit moody or worse have no SH books or evidence of good maintainence. I believe that the cam belt, water pump change is a biggie on these and all the cars I look at at 90k miles on 02 plates rarely have had 1 change let alone 2 which I think is required.

These cars seems to wear the miles very well and Im a bit scared Im going to either get Pi$$ed off and buy a passat or get my fingers burned. Are any members aware of any good cars for sale??

Thanks SG :)

If the only thing rong with the 1st one is.

One issue with the remote central locking is that the key fob will lock the car but fails to unlock it thereafter.

Central locking continues to work perfectly with the key.

Dont let that put you off as i have the same thing with my 4x4 :wonder: still not got to the bottom of it.

I just use my flob to look it and use the key to unlock.

That second one seems like a lot of car for the money.

Keep looking, plenty about with fsh.

There's a couple of low mileage FSH VRS's on eBay at the moment. Cheap too.

there is one being sold in the for sale section with good mods

wont have the 240bhp as he says lol prob around 220 alot of car for the money

Their are some decent ones on pistonheads, keep your options open and go look even if it means travelling ..it might be for the right car!!

Hello all, thanks for the replies. good news I've found the right car for us and it was very local. It's a 2004 car in red with 2 owners, skoda history to 65k and then from a specialist called awesome which I have heard of. It read well looks good and drives even better so I am happy. It's even got the brisk skoda rear sticker so it's a familiar car. I will post pics as soon as she lands.

Again many thanks

I got mine about 6 months ago

Its a 51 plate which was a little older than what i wanted but it had only done 64k with full history inc belts (altho i did them again just to make sure)

I paid 3300 for it so they are out there just bide your time and don't rush into it

I walked away from it cos they wouldn't budge from 3500 and they got back to me next day

Thought I'd pop over and say "Hi", I miss Briskoda, I should make the effort to post more.

Hope you enjoy the motor.

A lovely end to my skoda journey!!!!

We had the VRS for about 2 .5 years which were trouble free and really great fun!! When I came to sell I contacted the previous owner mluton who has re bought the car!!

He's a great chap and I hope the car continues to run well and carry his family as safely as it did mine.

Russ B signing off (for now)

How long have you been looking mate? i have just bought an 03 estate with highish miles but full service history and belt and pump changed? i got it for £1600 with a couple of niggles which reflected on the price, i am more than made up, its a case of the right one will turn up im sure..
