1.8 TSI Estate

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm off to test drive a Octavia Estate Elegance 1.8 TSI DSG this afternoon. Im going from a VW Scirocco 2.0 TSI (looking to save some cash!!!). Can somebody give me the lowdown on the tsi engines in the skoda and advise me on the one to go for???

Cheers,

BigAirJosh.

The 1.8 is decent fast, does OK mpg and is pretty low cost on service intervals. Since your only upgrade is the 3.6 V6 in the petrol range i would suggest sticking to the 1.8 TSI unless you have money to run the 3.6. The 1.4 TSI, in my opinion, is too slow for the Superb.

Of course, if you wouldn't mind driving the diesel, i can suggest the 2.0 170hp version with DSG, it is simply astonishing. :-)

2.0 TSI is also available with SC

2.0 TSI is also available with SC

Ok well, at least, that is not the case in Denmark.

Get a 2.0 CR one mate, the petrol will be about what you get from the Scirocco given the car is heavier and sits in the air more, plus come selling time a 1.8 will get the old...oh it's a 1.8, where the 2.0 CR will be sought after.
