Possible Causes

  • Ignition system

  • Running out of fuel
  • EVAP canister purge valve
  • Evaporative emission system
  • Low compression

Special Notes

This feature search for engine misfire in a specific cylinder. Most of the time the cause for a misfire is a lack of combustion in a cylinder due to absence of spark, poor fuel metering, or poor compression.

Thanks for the reply, should have looked up the codes myself but a bit manic here tonight.

Not a quick fix then :(

Need to try and find someone who can have a look at it tomorrow or at least get the parts to do the coil packs / plugs myself and see if it happens again,

Anyone got the relevant part No.s ?

Money would be on the coil pack for no. 4.

coil pack 4 for me too. part number is in the sticky.

Coil replaced but VAS still showing a possible IMRC issue I'm guessing at Flap motor from the posts on here. Booked in for Friday for guided diagnostic. Hoping it behaves until then, as its seems OK no fault lights or limping just now.

Hopefully it's all covereed on the AA warranty once I find out what the problem is.
