Squeaky Brake Pedal!

Featured Replies

Help! My brake pedal has been sqeaking every time i press it for months now and its driving me crazy

I've noticed there is slightly more lift than normal but it doesn't affect the braking in any way.

As a private hire driver i use the car every day (now 260k) so i would like to get to the bottom of the problem if anyone can help?

Ps after a YEAR of searching now loving my car with the 17 inch solids!

THANKS to IAN for selling me his three! B)

Have you tried lubricating the pedal pivot? This is one place where WD-40 does work, but be very careful to not get any on the rubbers (and preferably none on the carpet).

If that don't sort it, it will be the master cylinder or the servo or both.

If you take the side panel off the dash, you can see the tops of the pedals.

Im guessing you found a 4th Solid then :D

I only just scrapped that 4th wheel a couple of weeks agao, was sick of looking at it.

Got any pics with the wheels on? :)

There was a thread on the Yeti forum sometime ago about a squeaky brake pedal in a new Yeti. It seems that it wasn't lubricated at the factory and was on the point of seizing up!! MY advice is to get some lubrication onto the pedal pivot as soon as you can and see if that stops the noise.

Hello and thanks to everyone who viewed and replied!

Managed to sort out the SQUEAK

where the master cylinder meets the pedal there is a ball and cup setup - a finger full of grease in the cup has made the noise disappear!

Yipee!
