hello there have a 03 vrs turbo car is spluttering really bad from 4000 rpm onwards and engine light comes on then resets a while later..had coes read it is saying cam sensor ???now is it common?also just had cam belt done 4 days ago??have had it checked today and all is lined up.We also steam cleaned engine bay is it possable it got wet would it cause it to do this????? thanks for looking

Hi mate the engine cover on the vrs is big enough but still, wouldn't steam clean it because of all the electrical components that can ingress water and eventually fail them. If you want to clean it just do it by hand with proper engine bay de-greasers.

The cam sensor is probably referring to the camshaft position sensor id imagine (i've not long come to these cars myself) and if you dropped one of those sensors id would go loopy, sometimes even struggle to idle. It is quite possible it was damaged whilst changing the cambelt, i'd ask who ever done the cambelt for an opinion!

Did it have the problem before the cambelt was changed?
