Well, after much deliberation I've gone and done it. Ordered a CR170 4x4, in Pearl Black Magic with Gobi interior. (Yep, decided on Black Magic at first, then went right around the rainbow before deciding that Black was the colour for me after all!). My cars have always been pretty much washed weekly and detailed every few months with carnuba wax and protected with Autoglym so I've little concern on the 'black shows dirt too much' argument. Likewise the Gobi may or may not show the dirt before Onyx, but black exterior and black interior was going to be a bit too depressing! Plus I love the Black/tan contrast, in my view it looks quite sophisticated.

Options are heated front screen, Front parking sensors (SWMBO insisted) and of course the obligatory Electric drivers seat with folding mirrors etc. Strangely the dealer couldn't find the seat and mirrors on the Skoda system and has had to write them in manually? Fortunately I had the configurator sheet with me that had the order codes.

Needless to say I've not got any idea of a build week from the dealer yet but I'm expecting late Feb/early March, does that sound realistic? That's a long time but at least I'll have the pleasure of knowing that I'm getting exactly what I want and chances are it'll be one of the first 61 plates! The added advantage is that it'll give SWMBO and my daughter something to buy me for Christmas in advance of the car arriving (Yeti Mats and some more Autoglym gloss protection).

Yes the Gobi will go nicely with the black, especially as it most definitely is not tan !!....much more of a putty colour in fact. I was originally going to go for black but Aerofurbs white one looked so good it swayed me in the end. So like you, I just went for the colour I wanted and the interior I wanted, so good for you.

Congrats! Enjoy the wait but I do hope you don't have to wait for a 61 plate as they only come out September 2011! If you get your car after March the first 2011 you'll get an 11 plate.
