Missing options on delivery

Featured Replies

I had the front parking sensors missing on the Scout I ordered and was told it was going to be put on afterwards without a problem as it could be fitted afterwards (I have a signed declaration stating this).

Seems now this is not true and I can choose between getting refunded for the option or getting an aftermarket solution paid for as fitting them as they should be when delivered from factory is too expensive (!? I did pay for that option).

I started checking of more things might be wrong and wondered I someone here knows the following.

(I ordered al car with ALL options possible apart from open roof and columbus)

- The car has no aerial, just a fin and a place where an aerial can be screwed in, shouldn't it have been there?

- I ordered curtain airbags and thought it would be also for the back but only the A pillar has an airbag sign, is this normal or should there be an airbag sign on the B and/or C pillars too?

I know it is too late now, but are there things I should check for to see if they are missing or not?

Thanks

The curtain airbags now deploy from the headling and the only indication is on the 'A' pillar. See this thread for more information.

There should be an aerial screwed into the fin!

When I queried the airbags and the mis-built seat (see other thread), the options were keep the car and they would sort it (they did, very quickly), or reject it, order another one and have courtesy car while I waited. They offered this second option as they had agreed a price for my GTI (in writing) and needed it straight away rather than another 12 weeks later!

Good luck getting this sorted.

Depending on how long you have had the car you also have another option - that is to reject the car as it is not 'as ordered', this would be a last resort though as you would then have to wait another 16+ weeks for a replacement car to arrive.
