Featured Replies

Hi guys ,

i currently have an issue with my vrs . When started from cold the coolant / temperature warning light bleep's and continues to flash with the engine running . i have checked the coolant level and it is fine also the car seems to run properly as this only happens when started for the first time . i am going to try and get it booked in as it is due a service anyway , im just looking for advice as to what the issue could be .

thanks

i had this warning light on my vrs last week whilst out on a run. Pulled over and checked the tank and it had emptied. First thought was head gasket had gone but soon found that the top pipe off the radiator had blown :S.

have u tried bleeding the system? Ive been told that it needs doing afetr changing coolant etc as airlocks can form.

Have you checked the electrodes on the coolant filler lid? I had a problem with my Leon, and it turned out it was corrosion on the electrodes. Undid the cap, scraped the prongs, problem solved.

I had the same problem a month ago. I did as above and it's been fine ever since.

Sorry to post on someone else's thread...but thought I'd save the kitten. Where are these electrodes which need scraping? Just use a flathead?
