What design tail pipe?

Featured Replies

I'm having my back box replaced and will be changing the design of the tailpipe(s).....

Your thoughts and ideas please, I'm thinking something like a single large oval, 7"x5"....

Alright Steve, hows things?

Yes those are cool but a bit big imo. What you have currently?

i need a new pipe......am liking the idea of twin round for the milltek that i picked up that currently has stealth downturned pipe

quite like the stock look to be honest

Check out Powerflows' website, huge range - lots of ideas

I have a large oval one just removed from mine - I'll post some pics tomorrow

you decided on yours yet?

My favourite is the twin exit on the 2.75" Milltek system, which I think you already have!

I don't like the ovals because they don't match the styling of the car. It needs to be something round or something a bit boxy, like the original.

I also like the 3" outwardly rolled round tailpipes.

the only reason i haven't changed mine is due to not finding a design i like.

A subtle inwardly rolled twin pipe gets my vote every time, but I guess thats what you're got already.

One of the good things about your car is it looks pretty standard from the outside (especially with the towbar :) ) so a big bore exhaust tip would be a bit of a giveaway.

Its 155mm wide and 95mm height

The top is 200mm long, bottom 175mm

The exhaust pipe diameter is 65mm

Looking at replacing it with a twintip design.

I am a fan of the twin exit, and from a performance point of view it is better as you get 2 exit points from the box rther than 1.

I think I'll go for (after much thought...) for another twin setup, prob two 3"-4" slash cut inwardly rolled tips.....

Thanks for the input everyone.....I have much to think about now.

Pics will be along shortly!!!

Steve

i had the standard one fitted back on mine , i think its the best design for the car

I like the look of the twin round as they seem to fit the bumper cut out better than the oval ones:

Well after much thought I decided to replace the entire system for a stainless 3" straight through jobby!!

The rear box has 3" entry with a single 4" outlet running into a single 6"x4" oval tail piece. No dividers or Y-pieces anywhere to restrict flow (my initual thought of a twin exit box showed up a slight restriction as inside the box I'd need a Y-piece)......the sound is err.......

F'KIN AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It pops and bangs like a WRC car on the overrun, and a real throaty roar from 3K upwards.....I'm so pleased!!!! On a cruise it is still just as quiet as the previous Milltek, so it keeps the mrs happy - I just cant boot it!

Top work to Phil at LTC!!!! Cant recommend these guys enough!!!
