:Hi

Made a big boo boo today ,undone the auto gearbox drain plug by mistake when changing the engine oil .Wasn't thinking, too many screaming kids & people wanting talk to me while I was busy .

Anyway that's my excuse for being stupid I thought something wasn't right when clean oil came running out , about 3/4ltr before I put the plug back in So the question is how do I put the oil back in ?

Its a 2005 54 plate Octavia Mk 1 tdi ambient Automatic with only 9658 miles on it . Ive owned it from new .

I have a Haynes manual but it only covers models up to April 2004 On the section covering the auto trans the pictures/diagrams don't look anything like my engine .

any help would be very much appreciated

There should be a fill cap at the front edge of the box on a little tube. However you need diagnostic equipment so get the box to the right level.

I understand what you saying but the fill cap & tube dose not exist on my model , It must be on of the very last mk1 octys, there's some sort of heat exchanger mounted to the top of the auto gear box ,doesn't say anything about that in the Haynes manual could I have a hybrid ? forgot to say that the car was bought through motorpoint & was a import from Malta full UK spec though.

Cant use the car till this is sorted & at the moment main dealers are way out of my price range .

jesus its hard to get at I was looking for a thing the size of the oil filter cap its only the sixe of a tango bottle top

downloaded a full Skoda manual from ISOHUNT best bit of reading this year answered loads of my questions
