Wet Yeti

Featured Replies

I have driven VW Passat estates for the past 7 years but recently bought a yeti demonstrator and it has far exceeded my expectations. However, when I cleaned it yesterday I found the (UK) drivers side footwell to be very wet ( I've got about half a pint of water out so far). I've read comments about leaks from sunroofs but mine doesn't have one. Has anyone else experienced this problem / got any ideas for solving the problem. I'm booking it in to the workshop shortly but any tips or ideas would be appreciated.

interesting, I too have just identified a weti yeti problem, exactly the same. Took it into dealer 2 weeks ago but they couldn't find anything. Spoke to Skoda UK (who were very good) and it has been booked in for 2/3 days on 12 October. A previous thread on here talked about a passenger side leak (see below)

My Yeti is a 9 month old demonstrator which i bought from Mitchell Skoda in Chester which is 80 miles from home. It turns out that it has had a new windscreen fitted and there was a leak directly in front of me. So between them and my local dealer ,screen refitted, interior dried, and skoda manufactures another happy customer. I have to say that Mitchells in Chester have been great. A unique experience. They are Skoda/Mazda/Lexus dealers and I rang before I visited to make sure the demonstrator was available. When I got there there was a warm welcome, a full tour od the premises including the workshops, met Mark Mitchell the Dealer Principle who knew who I was, where I was from, and what I was there to look at. When it came to negotiation they didn't mess about they gave me a very good price for mine and moved the price down on theirs. There were two other things that really impressed me.

1) On the showroom door they have their opening times. Against Sunday it says "at home with the family". You have to be really confident about your business to do that nowadays.

2) If you have ever bought a car from them then on Saturday mornings you can just turn up, have your car washed for free and be served coffee and doughnuts in the showroom. On the day we went they had had 300+ people in. Party time!!

There is a real buzz about this place. Take the family for a day out to the Cheshire Oaks Retail Park, the biggest discount retail park in the UK, and Mitchells are just across the island. Pop in and check out the buzz. And no, I'm not on commission!!

Good luck and happy motoring.
