Turbo Whistle/Scream/Squeal

Featured Replies

Alright.

I've recently purchased an 03 Superb; ninety odd thousand miles. It's the 1.9 TDI 100.

There is a fairly faint whistling or squealing noise which seems to be congruent with the turbo's action. This is through all speeds.

I bought the car acknowledging this. And I don't imagine the turbo is knackered because it still acts, in its function, perfectly. I've read the likes of... It might be an intake pipe cracked or something?

I'm going to have it serviced shortly, I'm just wondering if anyone can offer an opinion on this?

Possibly a boost leak?

Should come along to the October meet (check thread) and we could have a look at it for you

Alternator pulley, hit it with some WD40 and see if it goes temp, if it does you can replace the pulley on it's own or recon units start from £130 exchange.

firstly!sorry for hijacking!!!
