Symphony-no sound

Featured Replies

I got in my Octavia mk2 vrs this morning and my stereo had nothing from the speakers. The display was totally normal.

I switched between cd and FM, MW etc but nothing worked.

However when I came to the car after work everything came on as normal.

Any ideas?

snap! mine has done the same thing several times but touch wood comes back on when the ignition is switched off and back on.! dealer "re programmed it " some time ago but now well out of warranty and still does it infrequently but not for a while, probably will now!!!!

Volume low or muted?

Possibly loose wire in the back of the stereo.

Could just have been a glitch that remedied itself after power off/on.

My stereo crashes every now and then, worst case scenario is pulling the fuse, normally just an ignition off and on again solves it.

The more complex and computer-like these things get, the more common it will get.

I wouldn't worry too much unless it starts becoming more frequent or starts causing other problems with the electrics (unlikely).
